Inchydoney is very close to the famous town of Clonakilty. It is a blue flag beach and is located on an island connected to the mainland by two causeways. Surfing is the main water sport on this beach. We know that West Cork has some of the best beaches in the world.
Inchydoney Beach was voted the best in Ireland in a recent TripAdvisor poll (although if you're prepared to go a little further, Wbest, you'll find Barleycove Beach, which is undoubtedly Cork's king beach). County Cork is the largest county in Ireland and it's fair to say that the beaches offered by Cork are beautiful and varied. Kinsale, in West Cork, is the starting or ending point of the Atlantic Coastal Route, depending on the direction in which you travel.
